1970's
Foundation
ERM Group is founded by Sri E. Ramamurthy with a pioneering vision to modernize India's mining sector through scientific, mechanized and environmentally responsible practices — prioritizing operational safety, efficiency and ecological balance from inception.
2006
Leadership & Strategic Growth
Sri R. Praveen Chandra assumes leadership of the Group, driving its next phase of strategic growth, modernization and diversification — with a strengthened focus on capacity building, sustainability and value-added manufacturing.
2007
Diversification initiative
E. Ramamurthy Minerals and Metals Pvt. Ltd. is established in Shivamogga District — a modern TMT rebar rolling mill and induction furnace that creates downstream value and rural employment.
2012
Diversification - Mineral Trading
Benaka Minerals Trading Pvt. Ltd. is established — headquartered in Bengaluru with a marketing office in Chennai — meeting the demand for imported steam coal, limestone and fertilizers through turnkey, delivered-at-site supply.
2011
Diversification - IT
Codeland Infosolutions Pvt. Ltd. is launched, delivering SaaS-based telematics platforms and e-commerce solutions — the Group's entry into the digital economy.
2014
Integrated Steel Making
Prakash Sponge Iron and Power Pvt. Ltd. becomes part of the ERM Group — a 0.2 MMTPA integrated facility in Challakere spanning sponge iron, MS billets, TMT rebars and structural steel, now undergoing phased capacity expansion with forward and backward integration.
